The Gateway DX4840-02e is a reasonably priced desktop equipped a Core i5 CPU, bundled with a 23-inch monitor, and comes with a two year warranty (courtesy of Costco). You get very strong productivity and multimedia performance for the money you'll spend.

I've purchased 3 of these for clients, they run pretty quick once you get norton uninstalled and work fine for your basic workstation

I don't like the way the CD drives open, button is on the side, you'd be surprised how many calls I get about not being able to open the thing
