To compare these headphones to the previous HPA I had been using, I used a collection of songs from various genres, as you can see in the foobar screenshot. My music collection is kept in FLAC.

It's one thing to test headphones out in general scenarios, it's another to really push them, in this case it was a test to see how far the AK-R8's could go, I was already aware they could rumble quite well, but what about in 4 Speaker mode with the EQ...

Good sound ; Surround worked fairly well ; VERY loud. I have pretty good hearing and I was using these at 4-7% volume and it was plenty loud. If you like loud headphones these are probably for you

Not big enough ; Hurt my ears and head ; Headphones did not have large cups or edges that go around your ears. Just rigid rings. Not a big deal, but I prefer softer edges

Cross platform, great for gaming, excellent sound and performance, does not conflict with sound card, very good musical/movie performance, and does not disturb the roommate
