The B&O Beoplay H9 are luxury headphones that miss some key marks. Materials, battery life and active noise cancellation are great, but their overwhelming bass, lack of features and high price make them hard to recommend.

Very comfortable for long periods of wear ; Subtle noise-cancelling is excellent ; Wide soundstage and heaps of low-frequency without muddying the sound profile ; Longer-lasting battery life sets good standard

Significant asking price ; Noise-cancelling not as potent as some competitors ; Passive listen is a bit thin ; Bluetooth is a little too quiet ; Wind tear a potential problem ; Battery drains when ANC is idle ; Competition stronger than ever

As we said of the previous two iterations of the H9 before, it's all too easy to criticise these over-ears for their high price tag. But that would be to ignore the epic sound quality, supreme comfort, lovely build quality, and the notable battery...
