Sony KD-65XD9305

The 65-inch KD-65XD9305 is the first TV to emerge from Sony's 2016 TV range. A high-end set costing £2,800, it sits below only the flagship 75-inch KD-75XD9405 model in Sony's latest TV lineup.

Sony XBR-X930D: Thin, beautiful and much cheaper than OLED

Sony's best 65-inch TV for 2016 offers extremely good picture quality for much less money than an LG OLED, and is thin and attractive enough to be mistaken for one when seen from the side.

The Sony XBR-X930D delivers spectacular overall picture quality, with extreme brightness, deep black levels and superb color. Its understated design includes a pencil-thin upper cabinet. Android TV's large app selection means you might not need to use...

More expensive than some similarly performing TVs, and not as good of a picture as OLED.

Sony's X930D TV should appeal to people who can't afford OLED yet still want a high performance, beautifully designed TV from a well known brand.

Sony XBR-65X930D

Well, it doesn't, but at least the price has fallen (a lot) since launch. The X930D is still one of the more expensive non-OLED TVs on the market, however, and most people shopping for a midrange TV will balk at its price and select something more...

Sony's X930D TV should appeal to people who don't mind paying extra for its sleek design and outstanding picture.

Sony Bravia KDX9300D 4K HDR TV review

Sony's new Bravia is highly dynamic

Superb colours and brightness ; Ultra thin design ; Android TV functionality ; Powerful processor

Odd remote buttons ; Motion Flow ghosting ; Average built-in audio

With the X9300D, Sony has provided an affordable and high quality way to get on the 4K HDR bandwagon that is capable of stunning colours and outstanding brightness, thanks to some ingenious engineering.

Sony XBR-55X930D

Sony's X930D 4K television line brings native HDR video support to a reasonable price range, and really shows off just how good the new video format can look.

HDR content is visually impressive. Excellent color reproduction. Very bright panel. Good connected features.

Middling black levels. Remote and Android TV operating system are a bit clunky.

Conclusions With the XBR-65X930D, Sony melds a genuinely impressive HDR-capable panel with some odd design choices. The picture is hard to beat outside of a much more expensive OLED television like the LG OLED65G6P, which can't get nearly as bright. If...

Sony Bravia KD-65XD9305 4K HDR TV review

What happens when TVs diet

Pictures often look exquisite ; Incredible super-slim design ; Lots of app choice ; Built-in YouView works well

Android TV can frustrate ; Average sound quality ; Some backlight blocking issues ; Horrible remote control

Boasting an ultra-slim design, an innovative new type of lighting system, a native 4K resolution and playback of new high dynamic range pictures, Sony's 65-inch KD-65XD9305 looks on paper like one of the year's most exciting high-end TVs. But has its...

Sony KD-55XD9305 4K HDR TV review

4K UHD streaming backed by Sony's X1 processor

Ultra thin, minimalist design ; 4K UHD picture quality ; HDCP 2.2 compatibility ; 4K Netflix and Amazon onboard ; High-quality HD upscaling

Wearisome Android smart TV platform ; Gruesome no-button remote control ; Audio is passable at best

Sony's hero HDR 4K TV for 2016 is a triumph of design and image ingenuity, but usability remains its Achilles' heel.

Sony KD-55XD9305 review

This slimline 4K HDR TV is a technological tour de force and a great start for Sony's 2016 TV range

Sharp, detailed picture ; Great handling of motion ; HDR significantly improves picture quality ; Easy and fast to use ; Natural colours

Remote not easiest to use ; Picture doesn’t go quite as dark or bright as some competitors

This is what we want from an HDR set. It doesn’t reach the absolute blacks or brightness of some rivals, but the Sony XD93 trumps most of them where it matters: subtlety
