Oppo Reno 2 Review | Trusted Reviews

The Oppo Reno 2 is a mid-range phone that provides everything you might ask from a pricier model, posing some serious competition to more expensive rivals.

Big, hole and notch-free screen;Good-looking glass and metal shell;Solid value;Has a headphone jack

Xiaomi offers more power at the same price;Portrait mode is restrictive;Night mode is unsubtle;ColorOS 6.1 UI is not the best-looking around

Oppo Reno 2

The Oppo Reno 2 is a decent midrange smartphone that takes good photos, but it falls behind Oppo's own Reno 10x Zoom and a number of other competitors.

Solid camera, performance, and battery life.

Lackluster call quality. Lots of preinstalled apps. Not waterproof.

The Oppo Reno 2 is solid midrange phone with good camera performance, but nothing else about it is particularly enticing. We don't recommend it at all for use in the US, but even if you're considering it somewhere that Oppo phones are more readily...

Oppo Reno 2 Z review: Plenty to shout about

This isn't a flagship phone - but like the Reno 2, it'll get you most of the way there. And for the 10 or 20 percent it lacks, you're paying a high

Clear and crisp display ; Premium look and feel ; Great battery life ; Super fast-charging

Very slippery finish ; Low-light photos not a patch on the Google Pixel 3a

This isn't a flagship phone, but like the Reno 2, the Z model will get you most of the way there. And for an astonishingly good price. That's the real take-away of the Z: you're getting a heck of a lot for your money, so it's easily recommendable on...

Oppo Reno 2 review: A successful sequel?

The sequel to the mid-level Oppo phone brings quad camera, strong battery life & a large screen. Does it make more sense than its OnePlus competitor?

Classy and premium styling ; Nice big screen with no notch ; Camera system is versatile ; Long battery life ; Headphone jack

ColorOS software will divide opinion ; Realme X2 Pro is better and cheaper

A premium looking device with a very capable camera system, long battery life and a great display, the Reno 2 is a success. But by flooding the market, and with the latest Realme X2 Pro phone having been announced, Oppo isn't always helping itself.

Oppo Reno 2 review

Style, power, and crammed with features – the Reno 2 delivers

Sleek design ; Powerful performance ; Good battery life

Camera shots lack detail ; Not the sharpest screen around ; Software could be slicker

Stylish, innovative and full of stamina, the Reno 2 delivers in spades

Oppo Reno initial review: Battling the mid-range crowd

There's a lot to love about Oppo's Reno series of phones - the standard Reno is a well-designed mid-range device.

Decent spec sheet ; Punchy screen ; The shark fin works well

A lot of competition ; No dust or waterproofing

There's a lot to love about Oppo's Reno series of phones - the standard Reno is a well-designed mid-range phone that and brings a touch of flagship design and offers something a little different with the shark fin pop-up.

Oppo Reno 5G initial review: Premium powerful pop-up

Oppo is pushing the boundaries, both figuratively and literally with the Reno 5G

Sleek design ; No camera protrusion ; All screen front ; Intriguing shark-fin pop-up design ; Telescopic zoom

5G isn't ready for it yet ; Yet to be seen if ColorOS has dramatically improved

Hands on: Hands on: Oppo Reno review

Oppo is back with a sliding camera

Cool sliding camera ; Beautiful, notch-less screen ; Plenty of bang for your buck

Chunky and heavy ; No wireless charging ; Not rated for water or dust proofing

Oppo is back with a sliding camera on the new Oppo Reno but this phone offers a lot more bang and is priced much more modestly.

Oppo Reno 2 review: Flagship features for less

Packed with features but rough around the edges – there are better mid-range phones

Decent cameras ; Long battery life ; Thoughtful design

Camera afflicted with delays ; Unreliable auto-brightness ; Over-warm display colours

The problem for the Reno 2 is, quite simply, the opposition. For a mere £399, the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro includes a more powerful processor, an equally good triple camera and a notchless AMOLED display. The Reno 2 is perfectly competent phone and a...

Oppo Reno first look: The 5G model doesn't come cheap

Oppo's 5G Reno isn't cheap, starting at £59 a month for 10GB of data or £1,426 after two years

Full 5G networks may be a way off completion in the UK, but Oppo is giving smartphone fans a way to get ready for that future with the Reno 5G and we're very, very excited. Keep your eyes peeled for our full review, which we'll post here as soon as we...
