Brother ImageCenter ADS-2500W

The Brother ImageCenter ADS-2500W packs a nifty set of features for a desktop scanner at its price, including a color touch screen and both Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Very good OCR performance. Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity. Color touch screen. Scans to multiple destinations.

Slow for its rated speed. Very slow in scanning to searchable PDF. Relatively frequent misfeeds. "Full" software setup leaves two programs uninstalled.

Brother ImageCenter ADS-2500W High Speed Document Scanner review

Earlier this year, Bill and I reviewed several of the Panasonic KV-Series document scanners. We both agreed that they were very capable pieces of hardware. The only issue I had with it is that Panasonic had not developed OSX drivers for those of us who...

Well made, feature-rich duplex document scanner ; Great software suite ; Works with both Windows & OSX ; Touchscreen use/input ; Can be used without a computer connected ; Can scan directly to FTP, cloud-services, emails, USB and network drives ; Small...

Somewhat expensive ; May take a bit of time to completely configure

Overall, I really like and would recommend the Brother ImageCenter ADS-2500W to anyone who needs to scan regularly to a variety of destinations or who wants to transform their paper world into an digital one. That said, the ADS-2500W is not...

Three document scanners: Move your data from paper to pixels

Desktop scanners from Brother, Fujitsu and Panasonic make it simple to store your hardcopy documents.

Relatively inexpensive, instant feed, 3 programmable scan buttons, 3-year warranty

Windows only, slow scans, no networking ability

To my mind, desktop scanning is all about ease of use and flexibility. If it isn't easy and quick, the paperwork will pile up.

Power in a small package, but at a price

Setup was straightforward and I initially was going to use USB for first time setup, but decided to try wireless instead. Once I added the local wireless settings to the device, I ran the Brother ControlCenter4 software (downloaded from Brother, just...

Initial setup and usage worked surprisingly well via wireless (with one caveat – see Cons), folds up nicely to a compact size, carrier sheet feature is very useful, can be fast on multi-feed (seems dependent on the paper type), wide variety of...

Minor - “Forgets” wireless settings when unplugged, default scan settings when initiating scans from scanner itself gives mixed results (much more customizable initiating scans from the PC software), would be nice if the scanner could just see SAMBA...

Close, but no cigar.

This was a surprisingly frustrating unit to review. Usually I prefer paper instruction manuals, but the one for this device was truly lame. Oddly, ignoring it and using the user guide on the driver CD got me the information I needed quickly. I try to...

This scanner has many specialized features which are easy to use, such as scanning to the cloud, or scanning to an e-mail. It is as fast as the specs claim, except when using computer intensive features on a very slow computer, like OCR or conversion...

Very expensive. Misfeeds consistently on a full stack of new documents without fail. The more pages you put into it, the more likely it is to misfeed. It is best to feed this unit one sheet at a time, which seems to defeat its main purpose. The...

Terrible.. rma twice

I own the ads2000 and that works perfectly.. saw that this was a step up and has network capable.. horrible idea... Love the ads2000 but hate this model.

Nice small design

had to rma the first one after 3 days of use because it keeps giving the error msg if you scan more then one paper. Called brother and had to send it back for a replacement. Used the RMA one for 2 weeks and it started having the same problem......

So far I am pleased

I have been using Fujitsu scanners for many years. I have been very happy with Fujitsu. But I wanted a true network PC-less scanner. I found this scanner and gave it a try. I am pretty happy with it. There's no scanner on the market that can match the...

True PC less scanning. Support direct scan to various cloud storage. Scan direct to ftp/network. Scan to email. Touch screen control. Scan to USB. Reliable scanning

Saving settings for shortcut should be more granular. I should be able to scan to Evernote with one click of button using shortcut feature. Not 3-4 clicks even with the shortcut. (choosing PDF/JPEG, DPI, Color/Black...). Yes, response of the touch...

Omg! Where have you been all my life!

This machine is awesome! Never dreamed I would have had so much fun With this tiny machine. I know it's also for business but for little old photo hoarders this machine is a godsend! Love it. You don't even have to use a computer to use it. Downloading...

Impressive & Expensive

I really wasn't certain I wanted to buy a machine as expensive as this one. And it IS expensive. Having said that, I will say I think it is worth it. It's small, it's FAST, it appears to be quite solidly made, the software works, and it works with...
